By the time you sit down, it’s ready. Your voice is transcribed on the phone; only sealed, end-to-end-encrypted text ever leaves it, and it only ever goes to your own computer.

Straight answers
Does Quota Voice send my audio to the cloud?
No. Dictation is Whisper running locally on your machine — the audio never leaves your computer. The phone remote uses an end-to-end encrypted relay, so there’s no server that can read your stuff either.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts anywhere in Quota. Download it and use it — a license is a key you paste in once, not a login.
My copy still shows a trial. How do I use it for free?
Use the free activation key on this page or in your download email. Current builds still include the old trial screen; the free key gives you permanent access, including after a trial has expired. Your transcripts, dictionary, and settings stay put.
Does my license need the internet to work?
No. Your key is signed with Ed25519 and checked entirely on your machine. Quota Voice never phones home to validate it, so it keeps working on a plane, in a basement studio, or ten years from now if this site is gone.
Is it a subscription?
No. Quota Voice is free. There is no purchase, subscription, renewal, or paid unlock. Commands that use DS or Kits still require those separate apps and their licenses.
How long can I dictate?
As long as you want. Tap the key, talk, tap it again when you’re done. There are no time limits.
What Macs does it run on?
Apple Silicon Macs. Windows 10/11 too.
